We’ve gone mobile.. yeah baby

OK so it’s rather ironic that your favourite site for mobile news has only just gone mobile-optimised.. but we got there in the end – with a little help of Andy Moore and his WordPress Mobile plugin.

Please excuse the interesting brown and yellow colour scheme, we’ll try and fix that in the coming weeks. However, the main thing is you can now view a mobile-optimised (and therefore quicker and cheaper) version of SMS Text News from your mobile handset. There’s no different URL to remember, just surf to www.smstextnews.com.

How does it look on your handset? Let us know!

Seriously - we mobile evangelists need to be the first movers when it comes to mobile friendly sites.
I'm also using Andy's plug-in for wordpress and for my main sites to recirect to my mobile friendly site andrewgrill.mobi

I've just got my new N95 wohoo! And I thought it was going to take me to the normal SMStextnews site, but it took me to the brown and beige mobile site! Like it.
  • The only issue with that is that when you're using a Series 60 V2 or 3 device which has the new Nokia browser, it's just going to take you to the normal site, you'd have to launch the other mobi/wap friendly browser in order to access the plugin.
  • Sorry my bad. Same as the usual one, it auto-detects. Apparently.. ;)
  • So what's the mobile URL baby?
