There’s been a lot of noise in the Twitterverse this morning about a new Twitter client for Series 60 handsets. Gravity, by Mobileways, it claims to be the first native implementation – and despite having only used it for about a couple of hours so far I’m already impressed.

Here’s the run-down of features (lifted from the Mobileways website):

  • Compatible with Twitter and Laconica
  • All functions available on your S60 phone: tweet, reply, DM, follow & unfollow, create favourites, search, auto-update and many more …
  • Tabbed view of your Timeline, Replies, Messages, Friends, …
  • Setup and use as many accounts as you want at the same time
  • Twitter-Search section with multiple search tabs and Twitter Trends
  • Post pictures via TwitPic
  • Open URLs from any Tweet
  • Kinetic scrolling on S60v5 ( Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97 )
  • Theme support on S60v3 ( fixed dark and bright theme )

It’s available for download here – although the software isn’t free it’s a measly £7.30 to purchase and comes with a ten day no obligation free trial.

UPDATE: According to Jonathan Jensen (via Twitter) “Trial version of #Gravity only lets you send tweets for one day – bit restrictive”. That’s a bit of a shame really – would prefer full functionality for the whole ten day trial instead of just a tiny bit of it.
