Qtv launch multi-platform Internet TV Media Player
Apr 21st
Got an old Playstation 2 knocking around, feeling a little unloved since you got your XBox 360, PS3 and Wii (delete as applicable, unless you’re a real uber-geek in which case you’ll have all three)? You can give it some love – and get a new multimedia player for your PC and mobile to boot.
Qtv have just unveiled an all-in-one integrated media player that enables people to access online content and their personal music, videos and digital pictures. As well as running on the PS2, there’s versions available for over 1,100 models of mobile handset, plus Windows, Mac and Linux computers.
According to the company, you’ll be able to access YouTube, streaming video, Internet radio, music, games, shopping, and other interactive services on any of the aforementioned platforms. If that wasn’t cool enough, you’ll also have access to your personal photos, music and videos stored on your computer or NAS from any of those devices too. Oh, and it comes with parental control too, which should stop little Johnny accessing ‘that’ folder on your Windows share.
“People want everything – access to online content and their own content everywhere they are, on every device they have, using a simple solution that plays everything,” said Stacy Cook, CEO of Qtv, Inc. Mr. Cook further stated that “the Qtv media player is the one media player that puts all the pieces together so that people can have personalized entertainment anywhere.”
the Qtv media player is out later this year for $50 – which will give you all versions of the software. However, sign-up now for a 30-day free trial and you’ll only pay $29.95 when it’s released.
